Fuad Muradov, Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, met the members of the Azerbaijani community living in Kyrgyz Republic within the framework of the “Year of Heydar Aliyev”.

Azerbaijanis residing in different cities of Kyrgyz Republic came together in Bishkek.

 

 

 

First, State Anthem of Azerbaijan was performed, then the dear memory of Heydar Aliyev, the founder of the modern Azerbaijan, and our martyrs who died for the territorial integrity of our country, was commemorated with a minute of silence.

Event continued with the screening of the film dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of national leader Heydar Aliyev.

Welcoming the participants of the meeting, the Chairman Fuad Muradov delivered a comprehensive report on the multifaceted activity and systematic projects implemented by the state committee. Recalling President Ilham Aliyev’s recommendations sounded at the 5th Congress of World Azerbaijanis regarding the protection of Azerbaijanism ideology and national identity, the Committee Chairman highly appreciated the activity of our diaspora in Kyrgyz Republic. He invited our compatriots to be more active in promoting our language, culture, and emphasized the importance of involving young people in diaspora activity.

 

 

 

Chairman of Kyrgyzstan-Azerbaijan Friendship and Cooperation Society Akif Alaferdov, Chairman of “Irs” Public Union Khansivar Bakhshaliyev and others delivered speeches at the event. They have told that they are proud to be the diaspora of the victorious nation, and highly appreciated the close cooperation of the Committee and our diaspora in Kyrgyzstan.

 

 

 

The medal of the Republic of Azerbaijan “For Service in Diaspora Activity” awarded to Asad Hasanov, a diaspora activist in Kyrgyzstan, was posthumously presented to deceased’s nephew.

At the end of the community meeting, a wide range of ideas were exchanged and questions were answered.

 

 

 

Then, the Chairman of the Committee was a guest of the family of Azerbaijani Alasgar Safarov, who lives in Pervomaysk village of Sokuluk district of Chuy province, near Bishkek. The Committee chairman has been told that currently 26 Azerbaijani families live in this village. Their ancestors were exiled from different regions of Azerbaijan to Kyrgyzstan during the brutal repression of the 1930s. It was stated that Kyrgyzstan became the homeland of five generations of Azerbaijanis during 90 years. It has been mentioned that Kyrgyzstan was one of the first countries to adopt the law “On compensation to victims of repression”, and descendants of Azerbaijanis exposed to repression in 1933 and born before 1956, received compensation.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that our compatriots are attached to their national roots, they love their historical homeland very much, and they feel proud for Azerbaijan’s Victory in Karabakh.

Chairman of Kyrgyzstan-Azerbaijan Friendship and Cooperation Society Akif Alaferdov accompanied the Committee chairman.

 

 

 

It should be noted that Sokuluk district was established on February 5, 1935 as Kaganovichsk district, and it was renamed Sokuluk in July 6, 1957. According to, 2009 population census, the total number of the Azerbaijanis of Sokuluk district has made up 2299.

A photo exhibition called “Heydar Aliyev and the cultural heritage of Azerbaijan” was organized at the “Art Gallery Berlin” in Berlin, Germany.

 

 

 

Members of the Azerbaijani and local communities, art lovers attended the photo exhibition, held within the framework of the “Year of Heydar Aliyev” through the joint efforts of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Germany and “Azerkhalcha” OJSC.

 

 

 

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Germany Nasimi Agayev gave information about great leader Heydar Aliyev’s unparalleled services both in the direction of the development of Azerbaijani culture and its recognition abroad. Mr. Ambassador has noted that the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, named after the great leader, is successfully continuing his policy in the field of culture.

 

 

 

Fuad Muradov, Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora greeted the event participants and delivered a speech: “The outstanding statesman Heydar Aliyev has rendered great services for the development and preservation of Azerbaijani culture. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, pays special attention to the field of culture, and unprecedented large-scale projects are being implemented for the promotion of the cultural heritage of Azerbaijan all over the world under the leadership of Mehriban Aliyeva, first vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan”.

The exhibition aroused great interest of the local community.

Azerbaijani House has officially been opened in North York district of Ontario province of Canada.

Employees of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, Azerbaijan’s Chargé d’affaires in Canada Vasif Abutalibov, representatives of the Canadian government and parliament, consul general of Turkey, local residents and representatives of India, Jewish and Uzbekistan communities, heads and members of Azerbaijani diaspora organizations attended the event.

 

 

 

 

After ribbon-cutting ceremony, National Anthem of Azerbaijan and Diaspora Anthem were played; dear memory of the martyrs who died for the territorial integrity of our country was commemorated with a minute of silence.

Moderator of the opening ceremony was Tony Ruprecht, former minister and MP. He emphasized the importance of establishing Azerbaijani Houses from the standpoint of the preservation and promotion of national culture and its transmission to the younger generation.

Then the Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, Fuad Muradov, congratulated our compatriots on the occasion of the opening of Azerbaijani House in Canada, and assessed this fact as an obvious indicator of our country’s growing attention towards our compatriots living abroad.

Speaker of the Canada-Azerbaijani Interparliamentary Friendship Group Philip Lawrence, MP Ali Ahsasi, member of local government Michael Tibollo, Consul General of Turkey in Toronto Sinem Mingan, regional head of Gizilbash Global Heritage Council Arshi Gizilbash congratulated the Azerbaijani community on such an important event.

Then, a video depicting the activities of Azerbaijan House was demonstrated.

More than 200 members of the Azerbaijani community attended the opening ceremony. Committee Chairman Fuad Muradov welcomed the participants of the event, which was also attended by our compatriots from South Azerbaijan. He expressed his gratitude to the community members for conducting an extensive information campaign and organizing large-scale actions in the province of Ontario for promoting the truth of Azerbaijan during the 44-day Patriotic War.

He congratulated our compatriots on the occasion of the opening of the Azerbaijan House in North York district and invited the community members to take part in the activities of the Azerbaijan House.

Then, a wide video report about the activities of the Committee and the projects, as well as educational videos were presented.

Speaking at the event, Lalin Hasanova, the head of “Vatan” Azerbaijan Art and Culture Center and Azerbaijan House, gave information about the directions of activities. “Azerbaijani House is the home of all of us, each of us should support this house” she said.

 

 

Then, a video about the activity of “Vatan” Azerbaijan Art and Culture Centre was demonstrated.

Committee chairman listed to the proposals of our compatriots and answered their questions.

It was stated that the establishment of the Azerbaijani House was a great gift for all our compatriots. They expressed their opinions and put forward proposals regarding the delivery of the true voice of our country to the world community.

The Azerbaijanis from South Azerbaijan expressed gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for the support.

People’s artist of Azerbaijan, winner of the President’s scholarship Hasan Enami, Tabriz Azerbaijani Music & Dance Ensemble, violinist Jeyhun Ismayilov performed at artistic part of the event.
