On January 25, 2024 in Dushanbe, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirodjiddin Muhriddin held talks with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu, who is in Tajikistan on an official visit.

Foreign Ministers discussed the current state and prospects of development of Tajik-Kazakh relations of strategic partnership and alliance in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. They also exchanged views on regional security issues and cooperation between the two countries within the framework of international and regional organizations.

Special attention was paid to the implementation of agreements on enhancing trade, energy and investment cooperation reached at the highest level following the state visit of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to the Republic of Kazakhstan in May 2023.

Minister agreed to continue to extend mutual support in promoting the initiatives of Tajikistan and Kazakhstan within the framework of the UN, SCO, CIS, CSTO, OSCE, the mechanism of Consultative meetings of the head of Central Asian states and other multilateral structures.

As a result of the talks, a roadmap of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the Republic of Tajikistan in 2024 was agreed upon.

The talks held in atmosphere of mutual understanding.

On January 24, 2024 Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu arrived on an official visit to the Republic of Tajikistan.

The Kazakh Foreign Minister was met at Dushanbe International Airport by Deputy Foreign Minister of Tajikistan Farrukh Sharifzoda and other officials.

According to the program of the visit, M. Nurtleu will hold talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin and a meeting with representatives of leading Tajik enterprises and companies. The program of the visit also plans the participation of the Kazakh Foreign Minister in the ceremony of laying a wreath at the monument to Ismoili Somoni on the square “Dusti” of the capital and the monument to Kazakh peacekeepers in Tajikistan in the park named after Abdulkosim Firdavsi.

It is expected that the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, H.E. Emomali Rahmon will receive the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.
