On March 14, 2024 the First deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Nasredin Ismatullo received the copies of Сredentials of newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Columbia to the Republic of Tajikistan (with residence in Moscow) Hector Isidro Arenas Neira.

During the meeting the two sides discussed the current state and prospects of the development of relations between Tajikistan and Columbia, as well as cooperation in the framework of international organizations.

I.Nasredin congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and wished him for every success in carrying out the responsible mission.

The ceremony of presenting credentials to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev by Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of fourteen states took place at the “Akorda” residence.

 

 

 

 

The credentials were presented by Salman Bal, Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation, Egidijus Navikas, Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania, Pavol Šepel’ák, Ambassador of the Czech Republic, Nagendra Prasad, Ambassador of the Republic of India, Hamza Mahmoud Yousef Al-Omari, Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Nicolaas Jacob Schermers, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, George George Panamthundil, Apostolic Nuncio of the Holy See, Darja Bavdaž Kuret, Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia, Moses Kawaaluuko Kizige, Ambassador of the Republic of Uganda, Lesley Akyaa Opoku-Ware, Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana, Daniel Ruben Castillos Gomez, Ambassador of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, Adem Mohamed Mahmud, Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Jakob Henningsen, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark, Milan Raj Tuladhar, Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal.

 

 

 

Addressing the diplomats, the Head of State stressed that Kazakhstan is in favour of building a just world order based on the goals and principles of the UN Charter.

– Kazakhstan is conducting a peaceful foreign policy aimed at ensuring the security and sustainable development of the country. We are interested in expanding and strengthening mutually beneficial and friendly relations with your countries, – said the President.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also noted that Kazakhstan has good prospects for economic development and is ready to make every effort to become a significant part of the world economy.

– Here in Central Asia, our economy is the largest, but we are not complacent, we want to move forward and we want to make our economy more resilient and more robust, – assured Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

 

 

 

 

At the end of the ceremony, the President congratulated the ambassadors on the official start of their diplomatic mission in Kazakhstan and wished them success in further strengthening bilateral cooperation. A group of journalists from the United States visited Ganja

A delegation consisting of journalists and media experts from the United States, as

a part of their visit to the liberated territories, paid a visit to Ganja.

 

 

 

 

A detailed information about the history of Ganja, the second city of Azerbaijan was given to the guests. It was mentioned that Armenian armed forces, violating all humanitarian values and international legal norms, launched a missile attack on one of the central settlements of Ganja city, located far away from the frontline during second Karabakh War.

 

 

 

 

The guests visited the bombed city and a moment of silence was observed to honour the memory of the innocent civilians, killed during this terrible event.

 

 

 

 

Then, the delegation got acquainted with “Khan garden”, Shah Abbas Juma Mosque, Ganja State Philharmonic, and visited the monument erected in memory of the first martyrs of the Caucasian Islamic Army in Ganja and the mausoleum of Nizami Ganjavi.

 

 

 

 

 

The guests were informed that great Azerbaijani thinker, master of words Nizami Ganjavi wrote “Leyli and Majnun”, a failed love story, 4 centuries prior to the classic English poet and playwright William Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” The guests welcomed with great interest the hypothesis that English writer was inspired by Nizami Ganjavi’s “Leyli and Majnun” poem.

The delegation included Azerbaijani journalist Vusala Abbasova, student of Yale University and reporter of US bureau of the “Report” Information Agency, Afram Kosafi, head of the UN bureau of “Arab News”, former representative of the world’s leading media organizations in the conflict regions of Afghanistan, Iraq and South Lebanon (who worked for many years as a war correspondent (Fox TV, CNN, Al Jazeera), Paola Vargas, New York and Washington correspondent of the well-known television network of the Republic of Colombia (Caracol TV and Canal )famous blog writer, Paolo von Shirac, founder and chief of “Schirach Report” Selcuk Acar, photojournalist of the US bureau of “Anadolu” Agency, founder of “Turkish Journal” and Calvin Dark, president of “RC Communications”, well-known journalist and political commentator.

A group of journalists from the United States visited Aghdam

 

 

 

 

 

A delegation consisting of journalists and media experts from the United States visited the liberated territories of Azerbaijan.

 

 

 

Aghdam, “Hiroshima” of the Caucasus, was the first destination of the foreign journalists. An employee of the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) informed the American guests about the land mines massively planted by the Armenian armed forces on occupied territories, including the Aghdam region. ANAMA employee also answered the questions of the journalists who witnessed the explosion of two land mines.

Then, the employee of the special Representation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the liberated territories of the Karabakh Economic Region (except Shusha district) gave information about historical, cultural and religious monuments exposed to the Armenian vandalism.

The journalist from the United States visited Juma Mosque, Alley of Martyrs and the building of Aghdam Drama Theatre. Looking at the old photos and current state of the monuments, the journalists felt deep regret and astonishment.

 

 

 

 

The guests also got familiarized with the restoration works carried out in Aghdam region and visited the Aghdam Conference Center.

Employees of the State Committee accompanied the delegation on Diaspora Work.

The ceremony of presenting credentials to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev by Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of five states held at the Akorda presidential palace.

 

 

 

The credentials were presented by Nauman Bashir Bhatti, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Cho Tae-ick, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, Igor Bailen, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines, Janitha Abeywickrema Liyanage, Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, and Augusto da Silva Cunha, Ambassador of the Republic of Angola.

 

 

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated the ambassadors on the official start of their diplomatic missions in Kazakhstan and wished them success in further strengthening bilateral cooperation. The President conveyed his best wishes and regards to the heads of their countries.

 

 

 

 

 

– “Kazakhstan pursues a peaceful foreign policy. We are open to international cooperation, including with your countries. I am sure that your missions will be very successful. The Government of Kazakhstan and the Presidential Administration will do their best in order to support and facilitate your missions in Kazakhstan. On May 21, 2023, under the direct instructions of the Founder of the Peace and National Unity-Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, H.E. Emomali Rahmon, the second group of citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan, in the amount of 104 people (29 families), consisting of women, teenagers and small children returned home on a special charter flight from the Syrian Arab Republic.

At the Dushanbe International Airport, citizens returned to their homeland were met by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Matlubakhon Sattoriyon, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan for Social Development and Public Relations Emomali Nasriddinzoda, Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan, Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Tajikistan and others officials.

At the request of the Kazakh side, 5 citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan (mother and four children) were also delivered from Syria to Tajikistan by this flight.

The process of the return of Tajik citizens living in refugee camps in Iraq and Syria began three years ago as per the direct instructions of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, H.E. Emomali Rahmon. Meantime, the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in the State of Kuwait, in cooperation and coordination with the relevant structures of Tajikistan and Syria, achieved practical results in the realization of this humane initiative.

A rally on the 31st anniversary of the Khojaly genocide was held at the famous Heldenplatz square of Vienna
A rally on the 31st anniversary of Khojaly genocide was held in the famous Heldenplatz square of Vienna, the Austrian capital.

Over 1,000 Azerbaijanis from 31 countries of the world, community members, representatives of diaspora organizations and peoples having friendly attitude towards our country participated in the rally.

The rally started with the National Anthem of Azerbaijan and continued with a minute’s silence to pay tribute to the dear memory of our martyrs who died for the territorial integrity of motherland and the victims of Khojaly genocide.

Our compatriots, as well as the foreigners waved the flags of Azerbaijan and the countries they live in, held posters with slogans depicting the recognition of the Khojaly genocide.

The participants gave information about Khojaly genocide, drew attention to the fact that the Azerbaijani people had been waiting for 31 years for justice. The speeches were delivered mainly in English, Lithuanian, Serbian, German, Italian, French, Greek, Polish, Hebrew, Azerbaijani, Georgian, Norwegian, Finnish, Spanish, and Turkish languages. The rally participants demanded legal and political assessment of the crime and brining the perpetrators of the crime to account.

A documentary film dedicated to the Khojaly genocide, produced with support of Heydar Aliyev Foundation was demonstrated, pieces of classical music dedicated to the memory of the victims of the genocide were played.

 

As part of the rally, booklets and brochures prepared by Heydar Aliyev Foundation were distributed to the city residents to raise awareness about Khojaly genocide.

At the end, the statement of the rally was read in English and German languages.

It should be noted the participants of the rally gathered monetary aid for the victims of the devastating natural disaster in Türkiye. Gathered amount was transferred to the account of AFAD by the Organizing Committee of the rally.

It is almost several years that Azerbaijani communities abroad and diaspora organizations hold mass peaceful campaigns on the occasion of Khojaly genocide to raise awareness. The 1st Pan-European Karabakh rally was held by the Azerbaijani diaspora in Brussels in 2019, the 2nd Pan-European Karabakh rally was held in Berlin in front of the Brandenburg Gate in 2020, and the Pan-American Khojaly rally was held in front of the Capitol building in Washington DC in 2022.
