Every year, the international community celebrates December 10 as Human Rights Day, a date associated with the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on December 10, 1948, in Paris, France, which laid the foundation for the development of human rights and freedoms, and for the development and adoption of international treaties.
